SHOOT HIM IF HE RUNS
STUART WOODS
G. P. Putn
am’s Sons  September, 2007

Woods had brought back one of his most interesting characters, Teddy Faye, the rogue master spy/assassin, last seen in IRON ORCHID.  And Stone Barrington and Holly Barker (also seen in previous adventures, but slimmed down and sexed up for this romp) are on his trail.

President Will Lee (Stone's contacts get more and more grand)  thinks the elusive Faye has escaped his presumed death and so Stone and Holly  are sent, courtesy of the CIA, to the Caribbean island of St. Marks to track him down once and for all.  Just once, I'd love to see someone send Stone to The Bronx.

Along with the sybaritic life style and the usual action, they find secrets and corruption and the possibility that Teddy Faye is hiding in plain sight.

There's an old saying that goes, "If it ain't broke don't fix it."  I think Stuart Woods has taken that too much to heart.  It's just more of the same, we need some surprises from this franchise. Even witty repartee and glamorous settings filled with people with unusual names can get formulaic. Please, even Elaine doesn't eat at her restaurant as often as Stone and Dino do.
